The Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) has officially released the IAA joining instructions for the 2025/2026 academic year. These guidelines are crucial for all newly admitted students, as they outline key dates, registration requirements, fee structures, accommodation details, dress code, and other important information needed before reporting to campus.
1. Reporting & Registration Dates
- Arrival Date: Monday, 3rd November 2025
- Registration Deadline: Friday, 14th November 2025
- Orientation Week: Begins on 3rd November 2025
Latecomers will only be considered within two weeks from the start of orientation, and prior communication with the Admissions Office is required.
2. Fees & Payments
Students must pay 40% of tuition fees before registration. The remaining can be paid in installments (20% mid-semester, 40% at the start of the second semester).

Other mandatory payments include:
- Quality Assurance Fee (NACTVET): TSh 20,000
- NHIF (for students without health insurance): TSh 50,400 per year
All payments are made through the IAA control number system at CRDB, NBC, or NMB Bank branches.
Do not travel with cash. Use banks, mobile money (M-PESA, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money), or ATM transfers.

3. Required Documents for Registration
When reporting, students should bring:
- Original and copies of academic and birth certificates
- Original bank pay-in slip for fees
- Completed medical examination form (from a registered practitioner)
- Three recent passport-size photographs
Any admission obtained through false documents will be revoked, and fees paid will not be refunded.
4. Medical Examination & Insurance
- All students must undergo a medical check-up using the official IAA Medical Form.
- Those without health insurance must register with NHIF before admission.
5. Accommodation
- IAA provides limited shared hostel rooms for first-year female students, allocated on a first come, first served basis.
- Students are encouraged to explore off-campus private hostels around the campus, ranging from TSh 200,000 to 310,000 per year.
- Cooking inside hostels is strictly prohibited.
6. Dress Code
IAA upholds a professional dress code in line with government guidelines for future public servants.
Appropriate Attire: Neat, formal, or semi-formal wear. Shirts with sleeves, knee-length skirts, jeans without holes, and well-groomed appearance.
Strictly Prohibited:
- For Everyone: Sleeveless tops, shorts, mini-skirts, ripped jeans, revealing clothing, caps/hats indoors, clothing with offensive slogans, pajamas, and flip-flops in academic areas.
- Additional for Men: Dreadlocks, plaited hair, earrings, and unbuttoned shirts.
- Additional for Women: Sheer clothing, backless tops, tight-fitting clothes, and excessive jewelry.
7. Meals & Welfare
- The Institute does not provide meals, but cafeterias and vendors are available on and off campus.
- Students relying on HESLB loans are advised to have at least TSh 400,000 for meals and personal expenses while awaiting disbursement.
8. Travel & Transport
- Students should budget TSh 100,000–200,000 per year for off-campus transport.
- Taxi from Arusha town to campus costs about TSh 10,000, while daladala fare is around TSh 600 per trip.
9. Foreign Students
- Must secure a residence permit before reporting.
- Responsible for their own medical insurance and related expenses.
10. Student Life at IAA
- All students automatically become members of the Institute of Accountancy Arusha Students’ Organization (IAASO).
- Sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities are available to enrich campus life.
